Oh my! Where have the years gone? It seems like just yesterday I was making that 911 call to you dad to tell him that you were ready to meet us. I can remember that day like it was yesterday. It started the day before your due date, but you weren't going to make it that easy on mommy. How very unlike you. However, when I think about the fact that you waited until 1 hour past midnight (now your due date) it makes sense. You always like to play by the rules, and that was the rule. We were give June 15 for a reason. You were a little stubborn, well no, not stubborn, just upside down and didn't want to flip over. You needed a little assistance (like the forceps) with that part. You and mommy had a hard labor. You're heart rate drop quite a few times, and those damn doctors still didn't take you out. Sorry, honey, it's a sore point with mommy. Then when you did come, they barely let me have a chance to hold you before they whisked you away to the special care nursery. They tried to put and iv in your beautiful, pointed (due to the forceps) head. Finally they put it in your arm. Mommy had one too. They wanted you in the nursery for 48 hours but mommy cried so hard that they doctors let you out after only 24 hours. That was the happiest day of my life. The day I got to have you by my side all day long.
Mommy was quite scared. Not sure what to do with you. Ma was a big help and stayed with us for 2 weeks. Oh yes, when her and Papa left to go back home mommy cried like a baby. Then it was just you, me and Daddy. You had a tough start. Cow protein allergy then we found out that you had had a stroke during labor. But mommy and daddy didn't have time to feel sorry for you. We just had to get you better.
You hit all your milestones on time. We were so proud of you. It was then we knew what a little fighter you were. You put your mind to something, and even when it got tough, you conquered it. Wow! The things that you have taught us.
You are the kindest, gentlest boy. You have amazing patients with your little brother. You've done so well in school. You really know right from wrong and I know we will never have any trouble with you. When I was pregnant with you, I prayed that you would have Daddy's skin and temper and the man upstairs listened. You are so much like your daddy, and for that I am very thankful!!
You've become the best soccer player. You really do like it. You also love riding your bike, and to this day, mommy and daddy are so amazed, but yet very proud of how well you ride.
You are now 8 years old, and I'm writing this 2 days before you are going in for yet another surgery. This time it's to do with the tendons in your thumb. Mommy is very scared about the surgery. Well, not the surgery, but the whole anathestic thing. It never gets easier. This will be your 4th time having anasthetic and I'm just as nervous this time as I was the first time. But you will do great, and you will be the best patient in the hospital.
Mommy loves you so incredibly much! I'm so proud to be your mommy!!
Happy Birthday Jo Jo!!

But I can say cheese?
What a joke! Ever tried taking a 3 year old for a passport picture? Well, we did yesterday. Before we left the house, I combed his hair and told him that we were going to get pictures taken but that he couldn't smile for them. His response was "but I can say cheese?". No honey, you aren't allowed to talk. No biggie right? Yeah right! Dean goes first, then Jordan, who was totally awesome and his picture turned out like a true passport mugshot. Then myself, then Logan. Logan sits on the stool, we adjust him, and he's not saying a word. But his mouth is open slightly and the man tells him to close his mouth. So his picture looks like he's biting his upper lip. Kind of cute. I just find it weird that there are all these restrictions on kids passport photos, and yet in 5 years time when their passports expire they aren't going to look anything like they did in these. Oh well, those are the rules and we have to follow them.
On another note, I finally got myself contact lenses yesterday. It's just so hard playing ball and not wearing sunglasses on a sunny day. I chose contacts over prescription sunglasses because I don't mind loosing a $20 pair of sunglasses but I do mind loosing a $300 pair.
I'm looking forward to another girls sleepover at Shannon's house with Peggy, Emese, and Kelly. Should be a good time. I'll fill in with details after the weekend!!

Again, almost another month goes by without a post from me. What can I say? It's spring and our most hectic time of the year. Ball usually takes up 2-4 nights a week, and then whatever sports Jordan is doing. Weekends are either tournies or puttering around the house. Next thing I know, September will be here and I'll wonder where the heck the summer went.
What's new? Hmmm...not too much. Totally enjoying the beautiful weather we've been having. After school the kids and I are going to head to the waterpark when it's nice. They love to take their water guns and just run around for a couple hours before dinner.
Last Thursday Logan had a rough day. It started out at the water park where he was climbing in the water trusses and fell out. He hit his head and scratched up his elbow. Then, that night at the ball park he fell a few times riding his scooter. Scratched up his knees and got a small cut on his ankle. Well, by Sunday that little cut had gotten infected. I took him to the walk in clinic and then doctor prescribed oral antibiotics and some antibiotic ointment. He also said he needed a tetnus shot, but didn't have any for kids under 7. So yesterday I took him to the doctor. My intentions were never to not vaccinate him but to have him on a delayed schedule. I should have started this when he was 2, but it just slipped past me. So, yesterday he got his first set of vaccinations. 3 NEEDLES!!! Nope, can't say I was impressed, but you do what you gotta do. I've never heard such a blood curdling scream out of his mouth. And of course, I cried too. After the doctor was done he gave Logan some raisins. Logan just hucked them back at him. Once we were back out in the waiting room he was better and then I took him down to the pharmacy and let him fill a bad up with suckers. Last night he had a fever, which I know is normal. His whole little body was also sore, but hopefully he's feeling today. So that's all done for another 2 months. I think for the next set, I'll take him to the health unit. I don't want him associated the doctor with needles and being afraid.
That's all for now,
Love ya all!

OH OH!!
I really broke a promise. My promise to blog once a week, and look, it's been about 6 weeks. Holy crap! Where did the time go? It's amazing once spring gets here what happens. Of course we've been super busy. When aren't we? Sometimes when I go to bed I wonder where have the last 8 years gone. Jordan's almost 8 and I just can't believe it! It seems like just yesterday we were pacing around the living room trying to get him to stop screaming.
I guess you would all like a little update as too what's been going on. There's really not a hell of alot to tell, so here's what comes to the front of my mind.
Jordan and I did a trip done to Portland at the end of April to see his regular doctor and the hand surgeon. They were both happy with his progress. The hand surgeon, Dr Thayer, is going to be doing another surgery on Jordan, but this time for his thumb. The goal with this surgery is to try and get it to open up more. So, his surgery will be June 21. I can't believe how fast you can get a surgery in the States. She beats our medical system!!
Jordan has infected tonsils and is home sick this week. I took Tues/Wednesday off but better get my butt in there tomorrow. Hopefully the work isn't piled sky high.
Hmmm...Oh yeah. Donna found a spot called Iona Beach Park in Richmond. It's a 2 and 1/2 mile long sewage tunnell that runs out into the ocean. You can walk on the tunnel or there is a gravel road below. We took all the kids and their bikes out there and they had a great time! We stopped and they had a picnic and climbed on the rocks. We didn't quite make it to the end, but the next time, I'll throw Logan on the back of my bike and we will. Dean's looking forward to checking it out.
Logan's been Logan! Funny and sassy as ever! I'm telling you, nobody is going to pull the wool over his eyes!!
Anyways...I took time to post, and yes, I'll try and post again in a couple of day!!

Great Spring Break
Last week was spring break for Jordan. Ma and Papa went to Las Vegas for the week, so I just worked Mon, Tues, and Wednesday. It was great, infact I forgot how great it was. I think starting in April I will be going back to that schedule. Unfortunately it rained almost all week. So Monday Dean and I took the kids swimming. Bad mistake! It was so crowded. Then Tuesday, Joanne and I took the kids to Crash Crawly's. Another bad mistake!! It's a good indication that it's busy inside when you see two big school buses outside. Oh well, the kids didn't mind and that's what matters. Jordan, his best friend and I played laser tag while we where there. I'd forgotten how fun it is! Dean and I used to go with some friends before we had kids. We'd laugh so hard!! Jordan wants to have his birthday party at Planet Laser this year and I think it's a great idea. But...seeing as though we had so much fun, I'll be taking the kids before as well.
Dean and I celebrated our 10 wedding anniversary on March 22. It was kind of funny, cause I didn't even realize it was our anniversary until I was talking to a girlfriend on the phone around 1pm. We didn't do anything because we are planning on going on a cruise. Our idea was to do a Carribean cruise in Nov, but now I realize that's hurricane season. And can you really see me on a boat in the middle of the ocean in hurricane season? NOT!! So, I'm not sure when we will go. Jan/Feb was a plan, but I think that we are going to go to Disneyland again. I'd totally give up the cruise for a week in Disneyland!!
I put Logan in trampoline lessons this week, but that didn't go so well. He wouldn't jump on the trampoline, and only wanted Jo Jo. He cried and cried. So, he's probably too young and as much as thought he's ready, I guess he's not. He's been really funny since Mom and Dad went to Vegas. Doesn't want anyone out of his sight. When I tell him I have to leave he says "Are you coming back?". The good thing is as long as he's with Dean or I or Mom and Dad or Nana he's fine.
Gonna see my girls Friday night as we plan our Road Trip 2007 to see Marly in Quesnel. We aren't going until July, but hey, gotta plan early!! Can't wait to see you ladies.
Dean and I are playing ball this weekend out at softball city. I know I said that I wasn't going to play, but they are short, and I can't leave them shorthanded. It'll be fun, especially knowing that this is probably the only weekend that I'll play ball for awhile.
Well...back to work now...So I'll catch up with y'all later.

Happy Birthday Logan!
3 years ago today at this very moment I was at the hospital getting prepared for a scheduled C-Section. Mommy and Daddy very so excited to meet you. I was little scared about the delivery because your wonderful big brother had such a scary and traumatic delivery, but it all went well. About 4 weeks before mommy had you, I had an ultrasound. They told me that you were already 8lbs and that at birth you were going to be around 10lbs. Well, in typical Logan fashion, you proved them wrong. My beautiful little boy came out weighing in at 7lbs 3oz's!! You were a great contented baby. You nursed very well and slept good as well. After 2 nights in the hospital mommy couldn't wait to take you home. So I begged the doctors to let me out early and they agreed provided I took it easy when I got home. Well, I did sort of, but you were such a good baby that I had lots of time to get things done. I think back now, and I can't really recall a night or day that you cried more than 5 minutes. Your big brother was so proud! He was very good with you and loved to kiss and cuddle you. Did I mention that he picked your name because it was the super hero Wolverine's real name? He was so excited to pick your name!
I look back at the last 3 years and wonder where the time went. You have brought so much joy to our lives. You're little temper and very determined personality reminds us all of mommy. Maybe that's why I have a hard time getting mad at you. You sure know what you want and I have no doubt in my mind that you are going to achieve alot. Your sense of humour and the way you always laugh was graciously given to you by Daddy! Some of the things you say just make me shake my head, laugh, and say to myself "you are daddy's boy".
Today we are having your birthday party at Crash Crawly's. You are so excited that you are having a birthday! Jo-Jo got you a Nintendo DS ( and no, I can't believe that I'm letting my 3 year old have one) and I know you are going to be ecstatic when you see it!
You really made the true of the terrible 2's term but you also showed mommy and daddy what fun 2 can really be. While you were getting into all the trouble that you get into, mommy and daddy were secretly laughing. You know when we'd turn around and walk away after you did something wrong? Well...that's only because we didn't want you to see us laughing at you. You were not getting away with it, because we'd generally regroup, then come speak to you. You and your brother are the light of you dad and I's lives. We can't imagine what life would be like without you. Everyday we are thankful for having you two. I can't wait to see what fun and excitement the next year is going to bring us.
Happy Birthday baby! I love you very much,
Mommy

A little behind in updating!
Okay...so I'm not doing to well at posting once a week. I gotta get on that. It's been so hectic around the house that when I get on the computer it's just to check emails and nothing else. I haven't even responded to my emails. So if you've sent me one and I haven't responded, PLEASE don't be offeneded. I love ya all, but just have been so damn busy.
We have 2 Japanese students with us. They came last Saturday and will leave this Sunday. Just 2 weeks. They are 17 and very pleasant boys. Unfortunately it was so miserable this weekend that I couldn't do anything with them. Friday night I took them to Dean's hockey game, which they really enjoyed. Saturday I dropped them off at the mall to do some shopping, and Sunday I took them to the movie store to rent a couple movies. I was very surprised that they didn't rent something in Japanese since their english is not good at all.
Jordan's doing really good. His guitar is coming along great! He is really picking up speed and it really sounds musical now. He's got all his basic notes down pat and can totally read his music. Now he's working on the chords. It's a little challenging for him since he strums with his affected hand and it doesn't "flow" as great as a "normal" hand would. But in typical Jordan fashion, he will conquer it. That reminds me of how every night when he went to bed I would say to him "Who's the king of the world?" and he would reply "ME!" Then I would say " Who can conquer anything?" and again he would say "ME!". I've tried so hard to drive that into him and now I think it's starting to pay off. Yesterday he had the baseball glove on and I was throwing the ball to him. He would catch it and use his affected hand to take it out of the glove and throw it back to me. After awhile of this he said "Mommy, I think I want to play baseball next year." YEAH!! I was hoping inside of me that one day he would even though it's gonna be a huge challenge for him. Then he said " But I don't think I can be pitcher cause you have to turn your hand over and I can't". I told him that that's only in softball or slo pitch and that in the kind of baseball that he will play they throw it over hand and that he would be able to. His whole face lit up. I have already decided not to play spring/summer ball this year. Well, before you all think that I've lost my mind, I did say that I would "spare" where needed. I want to spend more time with the kids this summer. We do bring them to the ball park with us, so either Dean or I end up sitting or even someone sits and watches the kids. I don't want that anymore. I want to watch my own kids! They love coming to the park, riding their bikes and playing in the dirt. Jordan can bring is bat and glove and I will have more time to play with him. I still have many more years in my career, so one year won't hurt.
Logan continues to be a challenge. He's a total monster! He has such a mind of his own. We laugh daily at the things that come out of this child's mouth. Just amazes us!! I could go on and on about the mischief that he causes but well...I'll save that for when I got more time!
